How Irving Radiologists Work On Their Terms
Teleradiology has always promised flexibility. But the reality in too many groups is still a fixed schedule, a required login window, and an unspoken expectation that "remote" just means "from your home office instead of the hospital."
At Irving Radiology, we've built something genuinely different: a practice model that puts physicians in control of when, where, and how they work.
No Office. No Clock. No Compromise.
Irving Radiology is a fully remote practice. There is no central office you're expected to commute to, no physical reading room you're tethered to, and no geographic footprint that limits where you can live or travel. Our radiologists read from wherever they have a secure connection and a workstation, and that's entirely intentional.
We've seen our physicians read from:
A mountain cabin during a ski trip, reading in the mornings, on the slopes by noon
A beach rental where the family had a full week and they still covered their shifts
A different time zone entirely, while visiting family abroad
Their backyard on a Tuesday afternoon
The point isn't that location doesn't matter, it's that it's yours to decide.
Flexibility That's Real, Not Just Advertised
A lot of practices use the word "flexible." What they actually mean is that the schedule changes periodically and you can sometimes swap shifts. That's not flexibility, but actually a slightly adjustable cage.
With our group, flexibility means you have a say in when you work. Whether you prefer early mornings so your afternoons are free, evenings because your kids are in school during the day, or a concentrated block of days with real time off in between, we build arrangements that reflect how physicians actually want to live.
Our radiologists aren't navigating a rigid corporate structure. We're a physician-led group, and that means the people designing the workflow are the same people living it. When something isn't working, we adjust. It’s not a policy, it's just how we operate.
Full-time, part-time, per diem — we work with radiologists at different stages of their careers and different seasons of life. A parent with young kids has different needs than a physician approaching retirement who wants to stay clinically active. We've designed our model to accommodate both.
Your Life Doesn't Pause for Your Career
One of the most common things we hear from radiologists who join our group is some version of: "I didn't realize how much I'd been putting on hold."
The training years are long. The early career years are demanding. And somewhere along the way, a lot of physicians have quietly accepted that their schedule is the hospital's schedule, their vacations are whatever time off they can piece together, and their physical presence is always assumed.
We think that trade-off is outdated.
Teleradiology, done right, makes it possible to be genuinely present for the moments that matter outside of work, without stepping away from a career you've built for years and take pride in. You can go to the recital. You can take the trip. You can be home for dinner.
And you can still do excellent clinical work.
The technology enables it, our culture expects it, and our structure makes it sustainable.
Built for Physicians Who Want Both
Irving Radiology was built by radiologists who wanted to practice medicine at the highest level without sacrificing the rest of their lives. That guiding principle shapes every decision we make, from how we schedule to how we support our team.
If you're a radiologist who is ready to do excellent work — and do it on your terms — we'd like to talk.
